Mumbai Blasts Verdict - Hanging Of Yakub Memon

                   
                       Lengthy debates were organized by media to discuss Yakub Memon hanging attended by politicians and social activists with different ideologies creating a circus environment. Questioning the verdict of Apex court seems to be fashionable nowadays, defendants of Yakub in complicity with media created an environment favorable to Yakub in blatant contempt of Apex court ruling. All legal remedies to stop the execution were employed but in vain and eventually Yakub Abdul Razak Memon was sent to gallows. It is ironical how a  co-conspirator of 1993 Mumbai blasts that claimed 257 lives and devastated scores of families was defended on humanitarian grounds by certain activists.

                      Politicians as habitual played there part in unnecessarily meddling and extending there arguments that suited there ideology. Intriguing is the case of group of celebrities suggesting mercy for Yakub Memon. Though it seemed silly now, but lot of hysteria was created with continuous media discussion and seemed at one stage Yakub almost succeeded, but then almost is a word that carry no rewards. Mass hysteria only created confusing and acrimonious environment among society. Religious connotations to Yakub hanging was out in open and ruling of supreme court was openly challenged.

                     There's an old legal aphorism that goes, "If you have the facts on your side, pound the facts. If you have the law on your side, pound the law. If you have neither on your side, pound the table." It is noteworthy not a single person can vouch for Yakub's innocence and Supreme court in its wisdom considered his crimes grievous enough to fall under the category of rarest of rare thus granted death sentence, yet mischief mongers tried to twist the proceedings as farce and devoid of merit. Truth is after exhausting all legal channels including rejection of mercy petitions before President he was hanged. Innuendoes about religion is unfortunate and avoidable, the vicious campaign to smudge authorities is not only derogatory but dangerous. A precarious precedent has been set where a convicted terrorist is openly defended on religious ground.

                     The 1993 Mumbai blasts shouldn't be attributed to action-reaction of Mumbai riots or other unfortunate incidents of past otherwise someone will always find defense in Godhra train burning for Gujarat riots or P.M assassination on 1984 anti Sikh riots. An act of terrorism can't be overlooked and perpetrators can't enjoy extra judiciary benefits on religious bases or citing historical debacles. The rights of terrorists can't supersede that of innocent victims and law should take its own course and deal firmly without getting influenced by social ,religious or human activism. It is however noteworthy and unfortunate to know when convicted criminals in other cases like killers of Rajiv Gandhi and Beant Singh were showed clemency on questionable pretexts. State and system reluctance to execute such criminals is not only questionable but sows the seeds of injustice and sense of alienation among bereaved community.We must introspect and acknowledge the flaws in the system otherwise we will falter repeatedly and will be impervious to improvement.

                    India being a multicultural,multy-religious society that peacefully coexisted for centuries will have some differences over ideologies, the strength of the society will be tested and vulnerability of fault lines will be exploited by adversaries. The strength of society lies in oneness and not tether apart on religious bases. By questioning the verdict of Apex court we are trivializing the deaths of 257 people who were not only innocents but belong to all religious groups.Thus in this politically and religiously charged environment it is necessary to practice equanimity and divisive forces needs to be tamed and ignored.Peoples faith in judiciary and law enforcement has been restored by punishing the guilty. Although majority of Indians favor death penalty yet if capital punishment has to be abolished then a general consensus needs to be created. In the end i believe it is necessary to have fear of law (death penalty) among perpetrators of heinous crimes but justice should be commuted quickly and  shouldn't linger on for decades.

Nepalese March Towards Democracy

               
                 A noble and virtuous process of drafting constitution is underway in Nepal for the second time after collapse of first Constituent Assembly in 2012. The treacherous path towards full fledged democracy is sewed with insurmountable problems broadly categorized in three segments i.e secularism, electoral process and definition of federalism. The fate of second CA (as was with first CA) hinges on resolution of these contentious issues.

                 Nepal's long march from monarchy to democracy is long. Since the pre-historic period, Nepal has always been known as a Hindu state with 80.6% of its population is Hindu according to 2001 census ,10.3 Buddhists and rest from other religions. The religious identity of Nepal as a Hindu state is being contested by emerging trends for secularism under democratic disposition in the post-1990 period. Vociferous campaigning for secular Nepal is emerging trend among religious minorities,activists  and political parties .The post-1990 politics led to the emergence of communists who are ideologically secular, Nepali Congress – the oldest and influential centrist party shifted its stand from neutral position to secular state. The most peculiar trend is the involvement of certain missionary christian organizations to encourage(provoke) religious activism to declare Nepal not only secular state but decriminalizing conversion to christianity.

               The ulterior objective of declaring Nepal secular can be understood when British Ambassador to Nepal Andy Sparkes wrote an open letter to C A members suggesting "to ensure right to change religion is protected".The irresponsible advice which is directly interference and meddling in internal affairs of Nepal is a blatant violation of diplomatic norms. Encouraging Nepal to adopt secularism isn't confined to isolated incident of UK Ambassador but concerted efforts from different groups is underway.What's intriguing is the difference between preaching and practicing,  Britain is a declared Christian ‘Church of England’, not a Secular state .

              During the unfortunate Nepal earthquake the death and destruction gave orgasmic triumphs for such missionary bigots. There bigotry knows no boundaries as evidently clear in tweets below.

                The hate filled tweets by evangelists even put ordinary christian community to shame. Distress people are in need of food, shelter and medicine while they're out there preaching the Gospel and distributing Bibles and Children's Bible storybooks. The unfortunate truth is the changing demography of Nepal mocking and portrayal of other faiths (Hindu,Buddhists etc.) as regressive and pagan by evangelists .                   Nepalese people are known for there valor and integrity and ferociously guard there sovereignty. The drafting of Constitution is best left to the able hands of elected representatives of Constituent Assembly members and citizens without external influence and preachings.

Iran Nuclear Deal - A Threat To World Peace

              Albert Einstein — 'I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.' 

                  If The Treaty of Versailles sowed seeds of second world war the nuclear deal between Iran and west will be remembered for fourth. For long America and her friends are pursuing a dangerous and erratic foreign policy with questionable motives. Not long ago, Iran was deemed "Satan", harbinger of evil axis, genesis of all the trouble in middle east and in big U turn Americans are in haste to mend and rebuild ties now with Iran much to the chagrin of its trusted allies Israel & Sunni power house Saudi Arab. Foreign policy of Obama is an enigma riddled with inconsistencies if ever there is one. Obama in his first term snubbed India to appease and cozy up with China but after getting a cold shoulder response by Chinese he changed tract midway.

                 The terms of 159 page nuclear deal hailed by some commentators as path breaking, a diplomatic triumph is in my opinion is nothing short of debacle. In the end Iran will get $150 Billion and 10 years moratorium on enrichment of nuclear material one Atom bomb if Iran wants to pursue and have one. The Munich pact of 1938 hailed by British PM Neville Chamberlain as securing "peace for our time" only served Nazi cause by reinforcing there belief of highhanded tactics paying rich dividends. Iran nuclear deal has the danger of being judged the same by future historians. By kicking the can down the road,West has only delayed a decision in hope that the problem or issue will go away or somebody else will make the decision later, unfortunately its going to hound as Iran nuclear deal only reinforces belief of aspiring nuclear powers to get away with there demands sooner or later.

                There are many countries with ambitions of peaceful nuclear energy use supported by world powers but what makes Iran nuclear ambition dangerous is its clandestine nature,support to terrorist organizations like Hezbollah in Lebanon and threat of Iran to wipe out Israel from world map. These deadly connotations can't be brushed aside, in this particular case the ink hasn't dried yet and prominent voices of trampling America is reverberating from Iran. These ludicrous voices can't be ignored when world is sitting on tenterhooks and one shrill voice or action has the potential to kick start chain of events that will suck in not only entire middle east but inadvertently and reluctantly whole world.

                The paradigm shift in American foreign policy towards Iran isn't easy to decipher as yet but emergence of deadly organizations like ISIS(Daesh) ,unstoppable flow of sunni volunteers from across the globe and inability of America to weed out and confront such elements might have prompted America to forge deal with Iran. American and Iranian interest coincided in Iraq and Syria where both of them were reluctant partners fighting against ISIS onslaught. The unsuccessful attempt by vested interests(American & Saudi) to topple government of Bashar al-Assad was not the single instance when Iranian and American interests collided, but Hezbollah and Israeli war of 2006 at Lebanon and frequent skirmishes between the two warring parties often put Americans and Iranians at loggerheads.

              

               The resilience of Iranian economy against sanctions and support of Russia and China in UNSC has blunted American attempts to throttle Iran and bring it to negotiating table. Moreover sanctions and embargo didn't succeed with minuscule economies of North Korea,Cuba and deter them from capitulating or going nuclear so expecting Iran to succumb to sanctions was always foolhardy as Iranian economy is the 17th largest in the world.Though 60%or Iranian economy is dependent on sale of gas & oil and plummeting crude prices, sanctions dented it severely but it wasn't crumbling. Interestingly it was America that supported and started nuclear Iranian nuclear program in 1950s. 

              This nuclear deal between 5 UNSC council members and Germany (P5+1) with Iran at best will only slow down its march towards Atomic Bomb. The provision of inspection isn't full proof as Iran has conceded to the demand of ope-ended inspections.In the end this deal which seems to be a ploy of west to turn foe to friend will help Iran emerge as a formidable power with robust economy and nuclear weapons.The troublesome part of deal is if Iran decides to abandon deal with threat of sanctions gone only option of all out war will remain.

               It would be naive to assume Iran didn't have covert nuclear installations and according to reports from IAEA Iran needs approximately a year to make one atomic bomb,but with covert operational installations this time can be vastly reduced. This deal will induce other Gulf countries to embark on vehemently seeking nuclear quest. The sectarian fault lines and conflicts among Shia block(Iran ,Syria,Iraq, Yemen) and Sunni block(Saudi Arab,Egypt etc) is brewing rapidly and in this explosive environment of distrust and mutual conflict it would only be a matter of time when whole middle east will be consigned to flames sucking other countries as well.

               

Vyapam Scam

                   Job scams across India has captured peoples attention at regular intervals but nothing has catapulted itself to Vyapam scam of MadhyPradesh . The one before Vyapam hogging the limelight was the notorious Junior Basic Training (JBT) teachers recruitment scam, where 3206 teachers were illegally recruited in Haryana in 2000. The investigation in JBT led to the arrest of former CM (Om Prakash Chautala) and host of high ranking officials. The gravity of Vyapam that jolted national conscience was after deaths of 41  people so far, allegedly associated with scam. This scam where about 2,000 people are arrested so far, prominent being the BJP ex-Education minister Laxmikant Sharma while scores of others are still on run is finally handed over to CBI .
                  Before discussing the anatomy of Vyapam scam,its necessary to find out the real causes for such job scams to occur at regular intervals. There are many reasons for unending loop of job scams in India but basic and foremost being the large workforce with almost identical skills competing for fewer jobs(demand supply mismatch) .The job safety of government job makes it alluring for people to follow unfair practices, there had been instances of under privileged families bribing touts and middleman by taking loans or mortgaging there property. It's not just government jobs for which people pay through there noses,even getting a descent  private sector job is becoming an uphill task nowadays. About 12 million people join the workforce every year in India vying for stagnant jobs .With fewer jobs and incompetent corrupt institution,getting a lucrative job entice people to harp on to immoral,unscrupulous means. The biggest fallout of such scams is the replacement of meritorious candidates by dubious candidates.
                   Truth is jobs are perilously low and inadvertently a web of government officials, racket leaders, middlemen, candidates and their parents in collusion are responsible for such scams occurring at frequent intervals. Education plays a vital role in the development of any country,the quality of education whether at primary or higher education is significantly poor thus compounding the problem. Deplorable condition of education sector demands reforms in education system , bookish knowledge along with vocational training in consultation with private sector should be imparted to increase chances of employability. In India, only 7 per cent students are getting vocational education which is the crux of problem. It's very important to have education with the economic arrangements for reaping maximum benefits.
                   Our obsolete education system creates unemployable workforce without skills.The trend of government and private sector decreasing investment in education sector needs reversal. Universities should be encouraged to not only to impart vocational training along with bookish knowledge but seek collaboration with Foreign Universities to embrace newer skills. To start with, not much research work is carried out in our universities, we are emphasizing more on consuming knowledge rather developing innovation skills to succeed. Colleges and universities should motivate students to excel through innovative skills. The sorry state of universities becomes startling clear when not even one single university included to the ranks of the top 100 universities in the Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings. Investment in research and development is meager 0.9% since 2005 in India despite governments assurances of increased allocation.
                  As long as country has stagnant growth, majority of our population below 35 years of age and increasing number joining the workforce strain on jobs will continue. India can't afford to be a laggard, transition from knowledge to innovative skills based economy is need of hour. We have to be agile and adaptable to the needs of changing world requirements to be at forefront with requisite skills to reap maximum benefits. Lastly transformation isn't possible without out of box thinking, innovation, entrepreneurship should be motivated through public,private investments
                This scourge of Vyapam scam though is related to only MP in reality isn't actually confined to only one state, it is present in different states with variable names.The perpetrators of Vyapam scam should be prosecuted and better vigilance and transparency is required for stopping any more scams to occur .Job scams were and will continue unabated as long as effective stern measures aren't initiated with sole purpose of transforming education system.More funding towards research and innovation should be provided with minimum bureaucratic interference. The contour of robust economy is the growth and in changing scenario innovation, skill development is the buzz word for providing jobs thus eradicating poverty and inequality.There are many stake holders in it but government and private players have prominent role to play in transformation. 

Tales Of Two Gajendra's

           Not long ago a farmer named Gajendra committed  suicide in full public view at AAP rally in the presence of CM Arvind Kejriwal. He was supposedly a distressed farmer and was agitating against the  the Modi government's Land Acquisition (Amendment) Bill, although his family refuted claims as bogus as there family is perhaps financially better off and it was discovered Gajendra wasn't a typical farmer but an aspiring politician. His unfortunate death, though is under investigation and will be ascertained if he committed suicide or was a attempted stunt gone horribly wrong, what though is apparent is the distress in rural economy in India and level of disinformation spread over LAB. Share of public expenditure on agriculture and allied sectors declined from about 6 percent in 6th Plan to about 4.5 percent in Tenth plan,Irrigation, which is a leading input for agricultural growth, expenditure also witnessed a declining trend (10% in Sixth plan to about 8%) in Tenth plan ,this alone can summarize the disenchantment and dismay among rural population. Farmers suicide are rampant and no state is immune to tragic deaths of debt ridden farmers.Farmers deaths unfortunately doesn't hog limelight till some Gajendra has to do something extraordinary to get attention while all political parties are in same boat in offering lip service and condolences to grieving families. I am discussing it because these things aren't considered fashionable to discuss and is devoid of glitz n glamour our media and to some extent we all are more inclined towards.
         The tale of other Gajendra is even more interesting. Gajendra Chauhan was appointed as the new Chairman of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Governing Council that seems to have hurt the pride of students thus mobilizing  students bodies from different universities including JNU in Delhi and SRFTI in Kolkata mostly leftists organizations who were up in arms against appointment. Students are unrelenting in there demand of Gajendra's removal as his credentials were questionable and short of FTII  standard. The strike by students and pouring of support from many quarters including film celebrities is being discussed at length in our media with eminent media wallahs have expressed there opinions on it .
         What's important to know is the spending of Rs 12 lakh per student a year on FTII, a film student is subsidized more than one studying medicine, management or engineering. A cost review by the I&B ministry found that the extent of recovery through fees, hostel rent and other expenses as a percentage of expenditure in academic activities in FTII has decreased from 25% in 2006-2007 to as low as 11% in 2010-2011. In a country like our's where resources are scarce doesn't judicious allocation of resources is required ? Do we need and afford to run such white elephants on taxpayers hard earned money?
         I am unperturbed by affiliation of protesting students organization or credentials of Gajendra Chauhan to be appointed as Chairman, but spending on medical education at Rs 6 lakh a year per student (AIIMS), around Rs 3.4 lakh a year on engineering education (IIT) , while Rs 12 lakh spent on budding filmmakers makes me wonder the priorities of government.

Nuisances Of Arvind Kejriwal

 
          Democracy like life is unpredictable,it throws surprises both good and nasty depending upon personal propensity but eventually it is the peoples verdict that's honored. In Delhi, for the first time people elected a govt to be led by a party that more resembles a flash mob with Arvind Kejriwal (AK) as its leader. AK had been instrumental in the resounding success of Anna Hazare movement but eventually who benefited the most of Anna movement is unquestionable. AK efficiently used Anna movement to his advantage and as launch pad for political innings by carving a niche for himself on political diaspora. Anna movement catapulted AK and his coterie as honest,efficient and uncorrupted among masses . The genius of AK can be gauged by his position as unchallenged political bigwig in his party outwitting everyone else within the movement and party . AAP party formed to bring accountability and transparency in politics thus transforming & cleansing Indians politics for good but seems after assuming power AAP is slowly becoming a reflection of any other political party a namesake devoid of upholding moral values it vociferously preached to other parties on national scene. 
          During Anna agitation AK built habit of denouncing almost all political parties and forums labeling them dens of corruption and this habit continued after forming AAP.  AK exploited the adrenaline rush and peoples anger (of scams of previous UPA govt) to his advantage with incredible precision, during this time almost all politicians were targeted by AAP for corruption and impropriety. There were umpteen instances of tarnishing images of politicians across political spectrum by AK,  among numerous politicians deemed corrupt by adjudicator AK ,prominent few were Sheila Dikshit, Nitin Gadkari, Salman Khursheed,& Narendra Modi . Surprisingly never ever diatribe of AK against politicians were proved in court, it was a perfect hit and run job of AK to blemish people's reputation without adequate proof . AK in his original avtar as agitator despised everything in political parties from single man party of Mulayam,Nitish,Lalu to family oriented party of Congress or Akalis to Bjp being accused as communal. Everyone was trashed and loathed by AK to garner public opinion and sympathy to perfection truly projecting himself as maverick ,messiah of oppressed working class(Commom man).
          After assuming power for second time his gimmickry was out in open now with no lokpal instituted till now ,no internal democracy in party and alternate voices were kicked out making AAP a single man party run on his whims and fancies as his personal fiefdom .Something very intriguing is the conduct of his party MLAs and ministers with each day throwing elected MLAs with dubious pasts and fake degrees behind bars .Already 2MLAs are in jail and more fresh cases erupting frequently, it is only a matter of time before AAP govt will be questioned by electorate .

         The above gentlemen is an elected MP who is openly viewing his disenchantment among party workers, this isn't an aberration with more people openly showing disappointment over inflation ,deteriorating law and order condition. With levy of cess on gas and petroleum products essential commodities will only get expensive thus burdening common man AAP boasts of representing. 

        Surprisingly while common man is reeling under inflationary pressure, AAP has increased budget for publicity many folds. Recent electricity bills of AK residence has run up at Rs 1.35 lakh is nothing short of bewilderment for masses as AK and his party workers vowed to renounce luxuries associated with public life . So instead of cleaning the mess through efficient governance AK is resorting to an illegal gimmickry of holding referendum in Capital as a full-fledged statehood thus smartly relinquishing himself for unfulfilled promises by blaming Union territory status of Delhi as impediment for its development. This is also a subtle message for gullible electorate also not to get carried away by rhetoric but chose a person with affinity towards people and proven governance record.

 

To Chetan Bhagat With Love

          Since childhood i have been taught by family to be respectful towards elder, teachers & girls, strangely never ever it crossed my mind to be abusive and disrespectful towards either of them. Only now i realized that being respectful towards girls is first criteria can help one get lucky in sex, second criterion being polished fluent English will help guys to get girls thus sexually satisfaction is guaranteed. Mahatma Gandhi was in London, an Englishman asked Gandhi 'Why do you Indians have different colored skins? Look at us, we all have the same color'.Gandhi replied 'Horses have different colors but all donkeys have the same color!' In this case according to your prophecy English communication skills is  passport to gentlemen behavior and definitely girls is unknown to masses whose mother tongue isn't English.I didn't know that who coined the word "Bhakt" on internet (twitter) , but now anyone supporting a cause from protecting cow slaughter to celebrating Holi to seeking equal treatment for Hindus is categorized as Bhakt by morons you are vehemently defending .
           I always considered you an intelligent,reasonable & smart person and your  academic past lends credence to it , unfortunately after reading about your thought of Hindi speaking guys as frustrated losers has not only disappointed me but made me wonder about your abilities to understand Indian males. I don't know whether you were at India Gate among protesters fighting for "Nirbhaya" trust me majority of them weren't oxford graduates but local youth from government schools and colleges riddled with inferiority complex and sexually frustrated in your eyes. Believe me respecting girls and being in good books of girls has nothing to do with conversation in English or being a proud Hindu. 

        Being proud of ones culture, tradition and Hinduism  and getting assertive so as to defend it is obviously new in India, where we are accustomed to seeing only other religious groups vocal and vociferously defending there faiths, therefore it becomes difficult for few to acknowledge that hindus have equal right to protest. Only problem for people like you and your ilks is when common people confront and single out concocted stories and poke fun at stupid media celebrities on social media. 

 Though the precious right to speak is exploited earlier by the English speaking elite class of yours but now slowly by masses thus frustrating celebrities who till now go unchallenged . The word Internet Hindu by SG  for everyone who's aggressive towards her is equally abusing in my opinion , doesn't bracketing Hindu word with derogatory& abusive people on twitter insinuate religion ? It's true some people irrespective of gender go overboard to exploit the freedom to speak and anonymity does benefit such hate mongers but twitter is full of abusers who are perfectly sound in english and abhor anything remotely hindu, guess that's acceptable to you. I am not defending few bad apples but doesn't calling a democratically elected PM as stalker makes you question those "outspoken" women ? If people question there ridiculously cheap comments they are instantly labeled as Bhakts such is the idiocy propagated. 

             Most important and in the end would like to tell you learning new skills(language included) makes one grow ,one shouldn't stop learning but denouncing someone because of his inefficiency to speak some language is outright derogatory,also, don't belittle and question the intelligence of girls to judge boys on just communication skills. Stereotyping compatriots is absurdity , though some emotionally aggressive people get rude at times but such kind are less numerically and available in both the camps. It's high time your Oxford returned elites smell the coffee and stop playing victim card after provoking rather they should introspect for why large section of people gets annoyed by there tweets.As a practicing Hindu i too felt offended when saffron bullying or Internet Hindu words are coined but don't get abusive . Just like you offered advice to Bhakts about honing linguistic skills here's a piece of advice from Sant Kabir in "Hindi" for you .

Media Morons

         

        Strange are the ways of Indian media they choose and try to manufacture faults where none exists ,try to foment trouble where peace exists, go hysterical over trivial issues otherwise should be left alone but one thing remains constant is the zeal to protect one famous political family,never doubting or questioning there integrity and in the process can go at any length to defame and smudge any other political outfit. It by no means the other political parties are pious or without there share of hooligans but belligerently protecting Congress by section of media is astonishing. It's true we mustn't hold someone guilty till proved in court of law but why same acumen isn't shown while targeting BJP ? Why media doesn't desist from holding trials against all other parties and passing judgments ? The latest case in memory is of Lalit Modi (LM) where not only Congress but media was engrossed in endless debates ranging from impropriety to stashing black money abroad . While Congress brave hearts were screaming for PMs clarification and resignation of ministers, media celebrities too weren't far behind in seeking for proverbial heads of Raje and Swaraj. Lalit Modi left India under Congress patronage was conveniently forgotten and were harping on to resignation of Swaraj over concocted bogus story in UK, LM tweets were the source of information to rake an issue brandishing them Bibilical truth, such was the urgency to malign Modi government that these bigoted media wallahs rushed to interview LM hoping to unearth muck to paint govt in negative. I believe its prudent and necessary to investigate the wrongdoing in IPL which is nothing short of betting league thoroughly, starting from Sunanda Pushkar mysterious death to betting racked busted involving owners etc. everything should be under the purview of investigation, also ,who helped LM escape . As Congress and cohorts were going berserk over tweets by LM and everyday new revelations were pouring in some half truths dreaming to dethrone govt only to be bulldozed by LM himself . 

         The day LM mentioned his meetings with Gandhi scion ,Priyanka and Robert Vadra everyone went into huddle and quickly everything was hushed up ,forgotten and media moved on to Vyapam. The media circus didn't bother to check veracity of facts and question the family in question . Right after the anointment of Modi as PM candidate there is an insatiable hunger to somehow malign him, it started of with jibes of his humble past to embroil him in snooping scam when nothing worked and he became PM now the insanity of section of media holds no limits.This isn't the first instance of media conveniently ignoring news on Gandhi family, National herald case of misappropriation of funds wasn't ever reported and debated hushing up off whole issue is nothing short of mischief . 

 There's is the repeated tendency of section of media to exonerate few while doing opposite to all other political parties.They need to understand the old traditional ways of watching news are long dead with social media playing a significant role.Next on agenda for media is to play mischief on Vyapam where media trials are underway irrespective of ongoing investigation. Section of media that felt  offended at Presstitute comment by General VK Singh doesn't want to dwell on reasons why there reputation is tattered as no one is above law and spared from prying eyes of Social media .

Make In India

Make in India is launched by GOI with lots of grandeur and fanfare is deemed as game changer for ailing manufacturing sector in India. Governments impetus on manufacturing augurs well for masses as manufacturing is the biggest source of employment after agricultural sector for unskilled and semiskilled workforce. Indian economy is incredibly diverse with more intrinsically inclined then dependent on exports .Government efforts to improve overall businesses environment is encouraging, transparent auctioning of mines,spectrum etc, cutting down on red tapism, quick redressal of projects stuck in green tribunals are steps in right direction but still woefully short of major transformation when it comes to investment in the country. Indian economy has many impediments that needs to be firmly addressed before gaining confidence of investors , major reforms have to be implemented to bring in investments that India needs. Halfhearted attempts by govt to push for clearing basic bills like GST stuck in parliament logjam , repeatedly bringing ordinance on land doesn't lend much confidence among investors thus squandering the momentum and hope built on economic reforms.
          63% of GDP is services sector that grew tremendously through 90's with liberalization and reforms ushered during that time, yet the stupendous growth of services sector has one drawback it employs just 28 % of Indian workforce. IT enabled services, such as Business Process Outsourcing, have grown rapidly in the recent years and will continue to rise but is over dependent on the vagaries of world economic fluctuations.Tourism and hospitality is another sub sector that's discarded till recently and only now some steps are initiated as its growth holds promise for job creation .The biggest job creator is the agricultural sector employing  more then 53% of workforce but it accounts for just 17% of Indian GDP.Indian farm sector is still largely dependent on the climatic conditions with one or two droughts causes havoc. It is this discrepancy that needs immediate attention.We have to redeploy manpower from agriculture towards manufacturing .Recent govt impetus on building food processing industries(Food Parks) and cold storage parks ensures confidence. Food processing will help in value addition and cutting on agricultural wastages that's highest in the world .The over dependence of population on single sector has devastating consequences with maximum poverty stricken and debt ridden class emanating in rural India as is evident from recently published reports from Government .Finally, the Industry sector makes up 20 %of India’s GDP and employs around 19% of the labour force. Among the major sub-industries include textiles (the largest industry in terms of employment), chemicals, food processing, steel, transportation equipment, cement, mining, petroleum, machinery and pharmaceuticals.Govt initiatives to develop industrial corridors (SEZ)for industries to setup investments by providing world class infrastructure, tax breaks is a prudent step
            Another bold concept is the planning to develop smart cities across India. This single scheme has the huge potential to provide jobs on mass scale for unskilled and semiskilled labor force besides providing required residential dwellings for population . The worst affected and the most distressed class will eventually have financial security and stability as  construction is the biggest creator of jobs for the poor. It has the potential to alleviate poverty and transform India on an unprecedented scale but the bottleneck here is the unavailability of land under government. This drawback can be mitigated by prudent planning and creating consensus among stakeholders for mutual benefit of all. Any faltering on government parts can only lead to more inequality and unending loop towards obscurity for masses to end

Changing Aspirations Of Kashmiri Youth

          There seems to be a strong undercurrent among youths in J&K to somehow get associated and become part of national mainstream that too defying all odds and prejudices inculcated against country.Visible signs are the increasing participation of youths in all India competitive examinations which were earlier a taboo as it was considered serving India. There were times when only KAS was considered as viable option but increasing number of successful applicants each year paints a different picture pleasant to all. The ever increasing euphoria to participate and serve country is extremely positive development for the nationalist forces. There had been a concerted effort and malicious propaganda to defame India and create a wedge in people's physique ongoing for decades. The radical forces who tries to force there writ on common Kashmiris won't be pleased to see such bridges of hope and reconciliation. It only strengthens the belief to directly increase engagement with masses rather then the chosen few impersonating as leaders with unknown and untested popularity. It's however funny and paradoxical, the same impersonators(leaders) are themselves shamelessly & silently receiving the generosity offered by GOI as revealed by AS Dulat in his recent book.While preaching sacrifice to locals in valley stalwarts of Hurriyat like SAS Geelani or Yaseen Malik have no hesitation in accepting money incurred on medicare by GOI . What's most startling, the gem of all is the revelation on Syed Salahuddin who seek favor to get his son into Medical College in Srinagar .These separatists who are hailed as heroes by few and Pakistan belligerently propagate contempt, inducing youths to blatantly oppose India even justifying violence to achieve there nefarious goals.

      The same separatists who provoke youths to prepare themselves for supreme sacrifice seek completely different treatment for themselves and there families,it reminds me of a George Orwell's book "Animal Farm" where governance through "seven principles (also termed as seven commandments) of animalism" (one of which was all animals are equal ) was to be executed, which gradually gets reduced to single principle i.e single commandment in the end reading "All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others "

     The dolt in the picture is known for abusing and accusing Indian Army for all the ills in Kashmir, giving provocative speeches from Azadi to stopping Amarnath yatra. He is engineer Rashid, MLA from Langate.

      It is in this context we must applaud the open defiance of youths who have now finally started to see through and refused to toe the line of separatists.It is heartening to see a paradigm shift among the youth a new aspiring generation that refused to participate in the path towards abyss and destruction but towards the path of peace and prosperity.This generation shift isn't confined to urban places but all across Kashmir even in terrorism prone areas. On political stage people like Sajjad lone, Hina Bhat, Farooq Khan are the new voices emerging from valley with inclusive ideology that's never heard before are welcome signs of exuberant future of Kashmir .

Uncle Sam Don't Preach ,, Part - 2

  In my earlier post i have focused on perversely USCIRF panel report on deteriorating condition for minorities in India under proclaimed Hindu nationalist Narendra Modi . Though data compiled & provided by Delhi police although is a small sample size clearly indicates no upsurge in desecration of minority religious places under present govt as claimed ,thus indicates the mischief mongers trying to incite communal hatred in complicity with few individuals and NGOs.

 Some churches were vandalized and an unfortunate savage act of rape in West Bengal was also conveniently blamed on some Hindu outfits thus deliberately questioning Modi govt's conviction for not reigning in on such outfits merely on hearsay. After thorough investigations such attacks were found to be handiwork of disgruntled Christians (Bangaluru,Mumbai,Delhi) and in one case in Agra of jilted lover,the rapists were arrested and were identified as illegal Bangladeshi vandals.

 What's disgusting is the despicable flaunting of fake concerns for minorities by vested groups in USA to tarnish and destabilize India through fallacious concocted stories. It's astonishing that America itself is riddled with zenith number of problems ranging from Islamophobia to racial murders of blacks in ever increasing number doesn't raise eyebrows anymore .The racial profiling of Asians is acceptable there, leading to ever increasing acts of senseless violence against minorities both linguistic and religious. Stereotyping of minorities and subsequent attack on gurdwara, mosques are not rare. There had been numerous incidents of turban hand searches of Sikhs, Muslims too are victims of profiling and are increasingly targeted by christian bigots in the name of free speech.Graduating from vandalizing Sikh places of worship in California to Wisconsin gurdwara massacre, vandalizing Hindu temples in Texas, Kent and Bothell  are not isolated incidents. There are numerous incidents of mosque attacks and vandalism across USA that quoting a few would be injustice. Data related to desecration of minority sanctum sanctorum is readily available on net.  Worst still the special treatment seems to be reserved for the sizable black community who are routinely murdered by Whites and law enforcers usually on trivial reasons .

From 1936 racial discrimination to present day racially motivated attacks on Black population is continuing without abatement . There are unprovoked attacks on black across all age groups ,teenagers without discrimination of gender both girls and boys are not only subjected to verbal but physical abuses too,web is filled with such videos. There's an upsurge in mindless acts of violence against all communities in USA & hatred towards compatriots seems to have been inculcated down generations, thus not even congregation of worshipers at Black Church in The Charleston, South Carolina were spared they were butchered by a 21-year-old Dylann Roof, a white man is a recent case .  As recently as the 1990's, a wave of fire-bombings hit black churches routinely throughout USA. In 2013, the most recent year for which federal data is available, the FBI identified 3,563 victims of racially motivated hate crimes. Black victims constituted 66 percent of the total. 21 percent were victims of anti-white bias. 4.6 percent were victims of anti-Asian bias. And 4.5 percent were victims of  anti-Native American bias. Under such horrendous track record of blatant human rights abuse and minority violence perpetrated inside USA may i ask what moral authority does USA have to preach the world at large and India in particular . "Religious intolerance in India would have shocked Gandhi as stated by Obama doesn't therefore shouldn't be taken seriously in context of India. I am however not sure what Martin Luther King, Jr. would have thought about prevailing american condition but as the great man said never accept the tyranny and injustice lying down.

It would be prudent for panelists of USCIRF to do soul searching before pointing fingers at others. It's true there are some fanatical elements in our society who try to provoke and foment trouble but the administrative and social fabric in India has withstood the test of time & is capable enough to effectively deal with such hate mongers without sermons from west.

       Obama's rhetoric on growing religious intolerance had indirectly targeted Modi govt. It's not just the President but seems some vested groups are also engrossed in singling out new dispensation at helm,the case in point is the latest report by  United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF).  The USCIRF annual report-2015, largely based on the accounts of minority leaders and NGOs propagates half truths as gospel. The panel based its report on the whims and fancies of certain individuals and certain NGOs whose credentials are unknown. Group of NGOs are notoriously known now to be tax evaders, allegations of sexual assaults, tarnishing and targeting infrastructure projects isn't surprising anymore and thus Modi govt has rightly banned 4470 NGOs to the discomfort and chagrin of foreign donors.Government has cancelled their licences for a variety of reasons ranging from non-filing of returns or non-compliance with Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).Some of these organizations have now moved over from manufacturing opinions to directly funding political outfits for reasons beyond welfare of society is a new reality that govt confronted. The recent NGO under the scrutiny is US-based Ford Foundation that has funded a political party and profit making organisations "illegally" which has resulted in the foreign outfit coming under the Home Ministry scanner and put on the "watch list". Interestingly,Gujarat government had asked the Home Ministry to take action against Ford Foundation, alleging that the US-based organisation was "interfering in internal affairs" of the country and also "abetting communal disharmony" through an NGO run by social activist Teesta Setalvad. The action against Ford Foundation came weeks after the Home Ministry froze seven bank accounts of Greenpeace India and barred it from receiving foreign funds for allegedly violating FCRA and "prejudicially" affecting the country's public and economic interests.

         So its not surprising the person who's now running the govt efficiently is being hounded by vested interests who's ulterior objectives are hastily cut short. One can't smudge Modi for corruption or nepotism, his categorical views on development and peaceful coexistence not withstanding one can always tarnish him for minority insecurity. No matter he's clear of any indulgence or hobnobbing with perpetrators of Gujarat violence and is justly exonerated by SIT constituted by Apex court but few people wouldn't like to believe the truth, they would continue to browbeat on manufactured lies often with some media cohorts. It's somewhat becoming increasingly difficult for few to digest.  a confident, pragmatic,assertive, administrator who's fervent Hindu nationalist. The report was frivolous as pretexts like the minority community  complained about some Indian states violating their religious freedom by banning cow slaughter, "which is required for Eid-al-Adha" is nothing short of mischievous concocted lies as panel conveniently didn't check the facts like in India the animal traditionally sacrificed for Eid-al-Adha in India is the goat. USCIRF also laments that Sikhs were being denied benefit of reservation available to other religious minorities and Scheduled Castes, Sikhs were refrained from following there religious practices, such report don't deserve debate on merit as Sikhs enjoy all religious freedom and also benefits of reservations.When report is based on such shocking lies,complicity of certain individuals and NGOs with anti national formidable forces can't be brushed aside. There's been a lurking fear of gullible people falling to such blatant lies is ever increasing. We are a country of 125 ethnic groups and 127 spoken languages and nobody is persecuted or forbidden from following there religious rituals. One such Modi baiter turned supporter is editor and author MJ Akbar said and i quote ""It has been a long time that I left the Congress and I must look ahead now. Right now there is only one man in the country who can deliver and drive the country out of its current mess -- Narendra Modi"

Veracity of Ramayana

 This is an article recently published in Pioneer though interesting but do we actually need to prove veracity of "Ramayana" . Isn't  the teachings in the book sufficient enough to excel it beyond doubt ? deserves veneration from sane mind ?

Ramsevak Kol, a tribe from the Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh, stands head and shoulders above other Indians.  Genetic studies prove that he is one of the descendants of King Guha of Ramayana.  An international team of researchers consisting of geneticists, anthropologists, archaeologists and historians have found that Ramayana, written 10,000 years ago, is a chronicle of events and characters recorded by Sage Valmiki and not a work of fiction.

The mystery behind the characters in Ramayana has been solved by a team led by Dr Gyaneshwer Chaubey, ace genetic scientist of the Estonian Biocentre in Estonia. A three-year long research by Dr Chaubey and his team drawn out from Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad, Delhi University, Indian Institute of Technology-Kharagpur and Institute of Scientific Research on Vedas has found that the Bhils, Gonds and the Kols, categorised as Scheduled Castes and Tribes by the modern day administrators of India are the true descendants of characters featured in Ramayana. The peer reviewed scientific paper authored by the team has been published by PLOS ONE, a respected scientific portal.

The Kol tribe, found mainly in areas like Mirzapur, Varanasi, Banda and Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh, are the descendants of the Kol mentioned in Ramayana, according to Dr Chaubey and his team. Remember Guha, the chieftain of Sringiverapuram who helped Lord Rama, Sita and Laksmana cross the Ganga during their journey to the forests? “Guha, the Nishad King, is the ancestor of the present day Kol tribe we found in these regions. This ancestry was established by genetic studies. These groups of people carry the basic indigenous genetic traits of India. Ramsevak and thousands like him spread across the States of UP, MP, Odisha, Chhattisgargh are the true descendants of Lord Rama and his contemporaries,” Dr Chaubey told The Pioneer from Tartu in Estonia via video conferencing.

Dr Chaubey and Prof VR Rao, an anthropologist in Delhi University, said that the studies proved that these groups of people have maintained their genetic continuity for more than 10,000 years. “This again sets at rest the Aryan invasion theory. There is no inflow into the genetic traits of these tribes from outside elements,” said Saroj Bala, a specialist in Vedic and Ramayana studies, who shot into fame by calculating the date of birth of Lord Rama based on planetary positions.

Prof Rao said the studies confirmed that the characters mentioned by Valmiki in Ramayana are real life characters. “King Dasaratha, Rama and others were not fictional characters,” he said.  Dr S Kalyanaraman, an Indologist of repute, said the Kols are the iron smelters about whom there are mentions in Indus Script excavated from the banks of Indus as well as River Saraswathi.

“This paper by Gyaneswer Chaube and team is an attempt to explain the roots of Hindu civilisation which has been distorted by creating false ethnic identities by the categorisation of people,” said Dr Kalyanaraman. He said a comprehensive study incorporating all tribes should be undertaken which would prove that the breaking up of essential unity of Bharatiya identity based on caste and ethnicity are academic fiction with no basis and a distortion of the history of ancient India
